For years I have read of Thai boys telling farangs they, “think too much”.  On the boards I have seen farangs discuss the philosophical implications of such a mind set vis-I-vis  our own.  I have wondered if the boys may be intending to say, “You worry too much”, but lack the language skills.



After just reading another quote of a Thai boy’s saying, “You think too much”, I asked my boyfriend what the boys mean when they say this.  He said when he has heard boys use the phrase he has understood them to intend to say, “worry”, rather than, “think”.



Of course we all know Thais often use, "too much"' to mean, "a lot".



"I love you too much."

yes, reading your post vbbbbbbb, I think toooo much - or rather worry tooooo much.  

its simply the normal translation of ''kit mahk'' (loey" if so wanted) and that means both think/worry. Thai even lacks a sharp distinction between what seems to worry the farang here so much.

and yes, as thought so, it does have a kind of slightly negative connotation like: wannee dee kwa proenee: ;live now, dont think tomorrow
