I sometimes also go south of the border too (ask me which hemisphere though).



I gave up a while ago about how to determine what is the correct amount to tip (either regarding the "tip" we usually discuss or the tip for other services). There are no definite answers, just guidelines.



In any event, we all have one final destination. Just enjoy life and make someone else's life a little bit easier.

And tip properly the cleaning lady, maintenance man who adjusts the TV for me and anyone else contributes towards making my LOS visits happy....not just the boiz.

Just to clear up something someone said, I use "boiz" because I don't like "boys" as that makes me feel a bit like a paedophiliac. I like youngmen (anyone remember Rechy and City of Night?)and men (anyone over 27 by my reckoning)not underaged people so I don't like using "boys" to refer to my Thai companions.

I think it is a matter of how long you spend with them,how long you have known them, what all you do with them ie travel, taking them to places they could never afford to go on their own, and what 'gifts' you provide them.  My BF is 35 years old and we have a great time together. I tend to tip in the 1000B per day range regardless of anything else.  When we went to Italy, I tipped him for the 6 weeks we were away/THAT REALLY BLEW HIM AWAY!  I didn't have to do that, but he still had his living expenses regardless of our travels. He resisted, I insisted.  It made us both feel good about it.
