It cannot be a coincidence that on what was the busiest night in Patong since the Tsunami, as a prelude to the Nation party in Phuket, the anti terrorist department of the police decided to raid most of the bars in Paradise Complex, Patong, starting with the Boat Bar, which was packed with 150 plus guests. Those bloody gay terrorists are subverting the nation again, despite the welcome extended to them by the local government. Right and left hand, I think.

Or maybe they feel that a gay gathering in Thailand would be a likely target for religious extremist terrorists?



Were these the routine pee-test raids, or something different? If they were the pee-test raids, then it does seem odd that the anti-terrorist department would be in charge.

A lovely gay celebration for Singapore Gays is banned by their Police as inappropriate - after 4 years of similar celebrations without incident. They bravely move a huge distance to, tsunami hit lack of tourists, Phuket and on the first night the Police raid the main disco/cabaret bar.



Is there a Government foot in Thailand that is not full of shots?  

The justification for the raids was the checking of the ids of the staff in the bars. They were not interested at all in the customers ids, which they would have been if it had been a bona(sic) fide terrorist concern. Nor were they armed. No one had ever seen the terrorist police, in their camouflage combat uniforms, in Paradise before.



They were simply out to disrupt activities, as music had to be stopped, and no drinks were allowed to be served, during the period of the raid in each of the premises. After the raid on the Boat Bar most of the tourists left the area completely, definitely discouraged from returning tonight for the White Party event.





 

As a famous (or infamous) farang bar observer used to put it TIT 'This is Thailand'.



 

Rumor says it that the Singapore government asked the Thai police to disturb this event as much as they could - - if gay Singaporeans cannot have this event at home they cannot have it anywhere else.
