Got caught up in my first police raid this past Friday at X2 (X boom next door was also raided).  The lights came on at about 4 am and the door was blocked off. All my friends began powdering their faces in case they were photographed or filmed.  After half an hour, we were asked to show our IDs and that was that.  A couple of foreigners were being slightly huffy at the door but that did no good.  Supposedly those under 20 (and I saw a few) will have to pay a 500bt fine and a member of their family come and release them.



Finally came back to the hotel around 6am and at 8 we went to visit friend's sister in law in hospital.  She had just given birth to a boy.  Before you start yawning, there was a 70 year old woman in the same ward who had also given birth.  Surely, this must be only a couple of years short of the record. There she was on our way out.  Small with short grey hair, she was lying on on of the beds.  Didn't see the kid though but she looked exhausted.

It's a dance bar slightly across soi from nature boy. I think it is runned by old owners of Dream Boys.  Popular after gogo bars and DJ closes.  Very busy before raid.

The Boom place was Bank Studio in a former existence.  Another illegal after-hours disco.
