Not surprising to anyone, dear Homi.  Pedophilia happens everywhere...it's just less risky (and cheaper) to do it in the third world, where -- thanks to poverty, corruption, and moral bankruptcy -- it has become an industry.  You won't find 12 year-old boys sitting in bars in their underwear waiting for customers in the US...

Correct - but that is a tiny, tiny minority of pedophiles - the majority are safely at home, as uncles, fathers or brothers who go nowhere near the Third World.  And by the way, I thought I recalled postings from you objecting to the use of the phrase "Third World" in connection with Thailand?

No one's arguing with you, dear, as much as you appear to want to argue.

As for 1st/2nd/3rd World, I'd classify Thailand (as a whole) as the Second World, as there is a huge gap between Thaildand's level of development and that of the true Third World, say, the likes of Cambodia, Papua New Guinea, Angola, etc.

That said, there are patches of Thailand which are decidedly Third World:  Sunee Plaza is one.  Oh, hell...let's just say all of Pattaya.
