When I was in the Army we used to have a term to cover this kind of thing: Shit House Rumours.  The notion was that someone sat in the bog and pondered a tale to relate, post washing his hands, that he had heard this or that... to his comrades on return to his hut or tent, or whatever. Having said that our own Tony Blar-Blar is having the same problems that Thaksin has... imposing his own concept of moral codes and attitudes on the people as if he knows better. We witness astonishing attempts at spinning on the assumption that those same people are not only simple but stupid... or so it seems to me. Both of these cunning political people are weak on history, strong on lust for power, and thus vulnerable to what history will say of them. But for Thailand, any attempt at power shift except through the ballet box will be a disaster... watch the baht hit 150:£ The consequence of a coup will make Thaksim look like a leading saint.

Every year on December the 5 th, His Majesty the King delivers a speech about the country ... I cannot wait the next speech as I feel that this year this will be VERY interesting (does anyone know at what time it will be transmitted on Thai Global Network ?)
