My tupp’nth worth and message for Wowpow
Au Bon Pain in Zeulung House near Silom underground/metro/subway entrance – mediocre to say the least (and expensive for what you get) but big windows good for watching.
Thai-Thai a few doors up from Au Bon Pain (also in CP Tower) – processed Thai food, again expensive for what you get.
The Toby Jug – not gay, and not open for much longer, but good British cuisine at a reasonable prices.
Balcony Bar and Pub (Soi 4) – reasonable food, I think better than Telephone’s offering, at reasonable prices. But they should do burgers and mixed grill, soon I hear typical English ‘food in a basket’.
Banana House, Silom near Soi 4, look for it or you will miss it – good authentic Thai food at reasonable prices, nice staff some cute waiters. You must try it, it’s good.
Fusion in Robinson’s – is OK with a variety of eastern cuisines along with limited choice 'Italian'.
Noodi – reasonable stuff and good quick service.
Jim Thompson – café in their shop, Surrawongse, nice environment, reasonable service. Reminds me of what I imagine ‘Grace Brothers’ café to be like.
Zen at Convent/Silom junction – OK
Bua at Convent – Good Thai food at reasonable prices, reasonable service.
Pan Pan at Convent – recently voted the best Pizza in town, by the readers of BK (I think) freebee mag. I agree but a little on the expensive side.
Coffee World by Pat Pong – recently refurbished an no great improvement, coffee used to be good (better than Starbucks but now they seem to have caught the Starbugs bug).
Beirut – the Lebonese restaurant behind Soishi in Silom and before the awful Subway sandwich place: a great almost undiscovered place, good food, good service and a reasonable price. Try it.
For Wowpow – Pantip Court’s buffet is indeed excellent and well worth a try.
