Have some friends who want to visit their son in Japan from the east coast of the USA.  You always seem to have such great sites for saving money for such trips and they have asked me for advice. What are the www sites that I should recommend to them for getting the best price on tickets in this direction in early January?  Many thanks.

I have viewed this website many time for helpful airfare information. It has been mentioned many times on the message board of flyertalk.com. This travel agency has access to many classes of airfares not available readily on the airline websites...they have access to discounted airfares they use to package air/hotel/ground travel packages - but they do sell the air tickets separately as well.



I have booked these class of fares from www.thaifly.com and chinasilktours.com before.... they usually earn frequent flyer mileage - be sure to ask and verify with both the agency and the airline. For example: The "H" class of airfare is available on Best Travel Store for Northwest Airlines and the fare does earn Worldperks frequent flyer mileage.



With respect to Dale's friends...I used the Best Travel Store to search for lowest fare from JFK - New York City to Tokyo - NRT airports...the results found a low airfare on Japan Airlines of $821.00 roundtrip - including all taxes and fees...during HIGH Season !

I tried that website,   a flight Amsterdam - Bangkok  is around 1500 dollar      ,   I pay 500 euro + tax  for the same flight.

The website I have suggested is a good resource for low airfares...and especially can provide ideas on what fares are available for certain days or alternative days.



Their fare availability is based on just that: availability of the lowest fares. In your case, the airfare you have secured may not be available now.



I have found their USA departure fares among the lowest I have seen for travel to Asia from the USA.



In any event...I have found it useful.
