Post Papists on the march in Thailand
Year of Evangelization Takes Off in Thailand

BANGKOK, Thailand, OCT. 27, 2005 (Zenit.org).- The World Day for Missions held last Sunday marked the opening in Thailand of the Year of Evangelization.

In a pastoral letter marking the start of this evangelizing event, Thai Catholics were invited to be ever more "aware of the importance of the Gospel and to be concrete witnesses of Jesus every day." Catholics number about 300,000 in a country of 65 million, mostly Buddhists.

The letter is signed by Cardinal Michael Kitbunchu, archbishop of Bangkok and president of the bishops' conference, and Archbishop Louis Santisukniran of Thare and Nonseng, president of the episcopate's Commission for Mission and Catholic Education.

The document was read Sunday in Thai parishes, reported AsiaNews.

In their letter, the prelates quoted from Pope John Paul II's apostolic exhortation "Ecclesia in Asia."

It said: "[A]s in the first millennium the cross was planted in Europe, and in the second millennium in America and Africa, so the cross for the third millennium should ... bear abundant fruit in this continent so vast and with so much vitality."

The pastoral letter mentions the Asian Mission Congress, scheduled for next Oct. 19-22, the end of the Year of Evangelization. The congress will be held in Bangkok.

Post Re: Papists on the march in Thailand
Papist and protestant missionaries have been on the march in Thailand for over 200 years.  It seems that the Thais think they have a much better belief system.  Thais have been saying the same thing to all of the Christian missionaries since their first boat landed in Thailand. "Thank you, we will take you up on your most generous offer of help with our universities and schools. We, also, appreciate your most kind assistance with our medical institutions, but as to your religion. No thank you; that is your path not ours".  So missionaries keep coming and evangelizing, and Thailand lets them do so freely. The problem the missionaries keep running into is that they are trying to sell an inferior product

Post the waiting list...........
If there is a waiting list for priests to relocate in Thailand it must be hundreds of pages long..  It would be crime if the papists got a real foothold here in Thailand but it is unlikey to have any chance as it main offering is pedophile priests and a warped sexual morality and anti-feminist and anti-gay teachings... :eek

Post wouldn't worry too much
I doubt these Christians-lovely folk that they are-will make much of an in-road into Thai religious life.

Edith once invited a very peculiar order of nuns-the Sisters Of Perpetual Indulgence-to our weekly bingo and carpet bowls meet to give us religious instruction. They were most unpopular and guests found them to be a bit on the rough side. I personally am not fond of women with bushy beards and moustaches..although Edith, needless to

say..accompanied the brides of Christ to Boyztown claiming she was going to become a "catechist"..whatever that is..I'm sure it's illegal.

Have you ever consider an exorcism Dr Thrope ?

Post Re religions
I'm a little suspect of any religion which has a philosophy that says:  "if you don't believe MY religion, you're going to burn in hell";

the only "religions" I accept as legitimate are the ones which state:  "this is what we belive, we hope you'll join us, but if you don't, that's OK too; and it's OK for you not to believe in god too... believe whatever you want; whether you believe or not, you're not going to hell".

Christians, that is what you believe, right?  You think that people who AREN'T christians are going to hell, right?

When i was like 17 years old, i walked into a church because I needed to urinate, (pee).  The next thing I knew, the preacher/reverend whatever you want to call him, was fondeling my buttucks.  I was only there like 2 minutes;  that guy must have been real horny.  Imagine how many others he did that too, and maybe still does.  what a creep.

Post Pearl!
While I thought every religion in existance, or that ever was, was as good as every other, (Until Papa ratzi recently announced, 'The mortal souls of protestants are in danger'--So I became an atheist--except at Christmas and Halloween--But can't locate an atheist church in the phone book--they belonged to the out-of-order Sisters of the Inacurate Deception!  SOPI is a San Franciso order dedicated to fallaciousness, flagellation, fellatio & roller skating, very much like the Sisters of the Inacurate Deception but broke away in favor of roller blades and designer habits...  very alluring once one gets into the habit. (Their habits are quite easy to get into, by the way.) And I said I was thinking of becoming a catamite, not catechist--I think the pink panther, Yumsuey, is one of those...Or is it antichrist?...Something about doing it upside-down which she learned years ago after offing one of the super-stars of the...special..show at Future Boys: Now refered to as, Boy Special.

I read somewhere that when missionaries first started coming to Thailand the Thai quite frustrated them because they would join every religion that came along--But remain Buddhist.  I love it!

Join a Church of Freethought, or become a Unitarian, or a Unitarian-Universalist if you're in the USA.
