I can highly recommend Vihavadhi Hospital (intersection Vidhavadhi-Rangnsit and Ngam Wong Wan Road). A good private hospital with reasonable prices (a third of Bumrungrad's rates), modern facilities, well trained and caring staff. Most of the doctors are western trained in US, England etc. For foreigners they have a special department to help you. Only one point to watch - check you account carefully before paying. They don't cheat, but their admin is lacking.

Stickman may well be impressed with the cute (female) nurses - they did not impress me, and I was even less impressed with the constant overservicing, 100 Baht service charge per visit and the exorbitant pharmacy prices

Quote:[/quote]Quote: Those are exactly the hospitals I would avoid. Pick up a copy of Kevin Trudeau's book "Natural Cures - They Don't Want You to Know About" which currently ranks #5 on the national best sellers list and has already broke records as the fasting selling published book in U.S. history. Of course it had a slow start during the first month, as the "powers to be" tryed to block the sale of this book in America, and If you read it you'll know why. Trudeau provides earth shattering facts regarding the U.S. Health Care system (FDA, FTC, American Medical Association), and their ties to the mega billion dollar U.S. pharmaceutical companies who do nothing more than poison the public with drugs for profit (prescription and non-prescription drugs). This book also explains the reason why most U.S. doctors recommend these drugs to their patients regardless of the known (and unknown) side effects, and their inability to cure the body to rid it of a disease (any disease). Doctors in the U.S. are taught how to prescribe drugs and carve out the body parts of their patients for huge fees, not how to understand how to cure the problems. I'd much rather rely on the learned ability of an Asian doctor who understands, and is dedicated to, curing the body to rid it of a disease, rather than prescribe toxic (poisonous) drugs which do no more than cause the body more problems up-the-road where more drugs (toxins) are than needed. I received an injury in May which required stitches in two lacerations on my right hand (watch those slippery tiles in the bathroom), I went to the Pattaya Memorial Hospital and received excellent treatment...all for a whopping 2,200 baht ($55/U.S.). They didn't send me home with any pain killers, or for that fact any prescription, which had me a bit concerned, until I later realized that I felt no pain. My boyfriend showed up at the condo shortly after my return from the hospital and handed me a few packs of this crappy tasting herbal tea and told me to drink one cup right away and another before going to bed. I have no idea what effects this tea had on me or my injury, but I was swimming the next day at Monty's pool with one hand and the damn thing was totally healed in less than a week. |
