Post Make-over at DJStation
Regular visitors to DJ might have noticed a slow refurbishment process going on over the last few months.

The air-con system has been renewed with large jets that dump huge quantities of much needed cool air on the main dance floor and stage area. The lighting and projection systems have been upgraded and there is a funky light-wall at the back of the stage.  The TV monitors have been replaced with plasma's and the front wall of the building has a new glass facade, which opens up to allow more exists at closing time.

The biggest change is on the 1st floor where the bar has been moved to the far corner (where the toilets were) creating a much larger area at the top of the stairs - where the 'beautiful people' like to congregate.

I won't put a link to their web site 'cos they haven't refurbished that yet

Not to be out-done, Freeman's is also going through a (more comprehensive) refurbishment. They have moved the stage from the right hand end to the back wall and the bar from the left to the back wall too. Thus creating large open areas to the sides. It is still very much 'under construction' and when I was there last weekend it had the feel of a youth club disco in the village hall.

Merry Christmas guys

I have been spending a few nights at DJ Station now and can add some more to the previous post on the DJ Station upgrades.

Yes, they are finally taking some of the money from their profits and actually putting some money back into the club.  Nice to see.

The entrance has been totally redone with blue plexiglass doors which can fully open at closing time to let everyone out of the club rather than just the one exit door.

The DJ booth has been upgraded with the same blue plexiglass and more modern computers and all the CD's on display racks behind the DJ's.

The stage has a much nicer background with new projectors that give a much clearer video image.

Upstairs on the 2nd floor, the bar has been relocated to the back corner (where the toilet used to be).  There has been an expansion of the club into the space previously used by a go-go bar.  I think it was called Top Man.  There is a bridge now that you can walk across soi 2 and then go into a fancy lounge area where you can sit down and take a break from the disco.  There is also a very cool stylish new bathroom over there.  Definitely check it out.....it's a nice space.

The 2nd floor area where the bar used to be is a little crowded to walk through.  Once you reach the top of the stairs there is just a big mass of people.  Maybe if they put a small disco ball on the ceiling there, it might make it easier to move through the packed crowd as the lights from the spinning disco ball would make it look like things were moving around.  Just an idea.

On the third floor, they are putting in a counter bar.  It is almost finished and should be open before New Years.

All the staff have new uniforms.  Can you believe it, the guys are all wearing neckties and caps with the DJ Station logo on them.

Christmas Eve was totally packed in the DJ Station.  Everyone thought the closing hour would be 3 or 4 am but like clockwork, the place closed at 2.

All these upgrades are still work in progress.  Don't expect too much.  The place is still the same old DJ Station with the same old faces.

I have to say, the new air conditioners are really over the top.  You almost get blown away.  I think I saw one guy with a toupe have it almost blown off his head.  Poor guy.

It might be better for them to lower the air conditioning a little bit because it really is frigid.  the stage too....not too many people taking off shirts because it's so cold.   sad
