Anyone have any advice on India? Hotels, places to visit? Places to pick up guys?

The usual service industries (waiters, porters etc.) are all possibilities but they're all very closeted in the main. I've been to India a few times recently and always could gaydar (is that a verb?) boys in hotels and restaurants. However Indians don't appeal to me at all, so my usual pick-up techniques ("What do you like to have for breakfast?" for example) were not brought into play; I imagine chatting up could be quite difficult because of the closet and them not wanting their peers to cotton on.
