 Improvements at "The Nook"
Hello all! How is everything going? Though I haven't been able to be much of a contributor lately with the opening of Niddy's Nook -- I have been silently reading and keeping up to date!
ANYHOW, I have a quick question for all of you. Does anyone know of someone or some company that specializes in building bar counters in Pattaya? In an effort to improve our restaurant, Niddy and I have decided to build a small bar area (maybe 4 or 5 seats). As such, we are seeking quotes from reputable builders.
Any suggestions?
Thanks so much,
Chris & Niddy

Personally that cafe bar needs a Theme otherwise it will go broke, yes get a small bar made. But will you still be there when your lease is up.If i had that bar, which is opposite the karaoke i would be making into a theme type of cafe bar.The food is good there but you still need customers.

 Agreed
The place is usually empty. On Saturday while going past I saw 2 customers, that was the first time I have seen anyone in there in the last 6 or 8 times I have gone past.
You really have to do something special in that location to make people go out of thier way to visit you. The Love Club had the same problems. They had a lovely young owner who spoke good English and some of the boys were nice too, but it never took off.
Good luck, I think you'll need it.

 I think so
but they are another place that seems very slow. I don't go past there as often as I do AT's bfs place, so can't be as sure here.

 Re: I think so
Last time I walked past IN TOUCH CAFE they offered me half price. But i couldnt stop had to head to my favourite WHITE KNIGHT ,not for the food ,but my freebie with a boy who likes to call me occasionaly. Not the best looker but hes a great waiter .The food not bad too! But i think the waiters which i have bedded 2 at no cost are better than that mushroom soup. However i would give up the waiters for that cake and cream which i had 4 bowls of.220 baht is value.
Anyway back to NIDDYS NOOK as i was saying you need to develop a theme, get the busloads in there, footy teams etc.
Pool tables to smash, brawls, fights.Anyone heard of THE SHADY PUB in Manchester?
Why not have waiters in MUAY THAI boxing shorts?

 Re: Improvements at "The Nook"
Well, nice suggestions. Thanks for the input. However, sports cafe is not our forte'. Nor do I believe everything must have a "theme." That being said, we know we are a work in progress and wish to improve with every new day...
A nice restaurant with friendly service, good food and good prices is what we are aiming for. We are patient people and realize that success (true lasting success) never happens over-night.
Already, we have a nice base of regulars and are seeing new faces each night. Don't write us off just yet.
See you at the Nook!
Fondly,
Chris & Niddy

 a suggestion..
I have passed by many times and seen the staff sitting outside looking depressed or maybe just tired but hardly inviting to passerbys.. I don't like overly aggressive staff pulling on my arm but I think the attitude and atmosphere perceived by the passerby could be changed.. I also like to see a large board outside where it is easy to see what is offered and the prices..I looked at your menu and had trouble reading it in the dark and like many here my eyesight is not what is once was...
Many of us know what day what restaurants have what specials or buffets and plan accordingly.. choke dee kup

 Re: a suggestion..
Guys Just give this resaurant a chance try eating there the prices are so low because they have spent the monimum on the place but the food is wonderful, go eat there you will be amazed, and no I do not know any one who works or owns thie place as usual.
This is a free service I do only out of the love of pattaya and all its patchwork or venues to enjoy yourself.

 Dew drop inn
I would also encourage folks to drop in to Niddy's and give it a try. I did, mainly out of curiosity since it was the topic of a discussion here when it opened, and was pleasantly surprised. The food I had was quite good, as were the presentation and service. FWIW, I was there on Monday evening, and there was another table of four diners, plus my table of one. Not so bad for a Monday night, I think.

Do not lose heart, if you give it your best ,you will make it, dont take any noticice of the nockers, let them have the guts,, that you & i have had , to give it a go,,If you need any help , in getting a bar made . I have a very good trades man Sombat, just contact me and I will put you on to him.
High Season is just starting,The best is yet to come.
And Remember to make a small fortune in Pattaya, you need to start with a big one OR a lot of guts. You Must have one or the other, Or Both.
Good Luck, And Keep going.

 Re: Improvements at "The Nook"
Agree with the comment above that when you walk past there is no encouragement to enter. Boys should work at it a bit. Friendle welcome as you look is found everywhere else locally.
Also, Menu needs to be big, clear and priced.

 Re: Improvements at "The Nook"
Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. We will work on improving on those areas that some of you spoke.
In the meantime, back to the original purpose of this post....
DOES ANYONE KNOW OF BUILDERS IN PATTAYA THAT SPECIALIZE IN CREATING BAR TOP COUNTERS?
Thanks so much,
Chris & Niddy
