I am familiar with the hotels in Bangkok that provide wireless for their guests such as Om Yim & The Plaza.....
....but are there any such hotels in Pattaya that are cheap to moderately priced. I have to do some laptop work everyday during my 10 day vacation and its not convenient to take my laptop to one of the internet shops.
Thanks guys.....

The Poseidon definitely and The Venue maybe.
There was an unlocked signal that I used when visiting Monty's.

Two Guys also has wifi. I heard Howards didn't (as of Dec 2008).
Every time you make an e-mail enquiry, ask about the wifi & eventually even the laggards may catch up.

I undersand you need to have a laptop for your work, but most guys would do better to leave thier laptop at home and take advantage of the cheap internet cafe system all over Pattaya. When you go back home and have to give your computer to the customs man, he may decide to really look into what you have on it. Be sure it is clean or you may well be sorry.

If I have photos of adults, complete with photos of their ID cards, what can customs do?

Hi Donald---- I don't claim to be an expert on the subject, but even with an ID card you may be questioned about your purpose of visit. This question was asked of me a few weeks ago by a female agent. My reply was, 'vacation'. She then flipped through my passport and said something about me visiting Thailand about once a year. My response, "Yes, Thailand is a beautiful country." She gave me a warm smile and passed my passport back to me and said something about welcome home. A close up of ID card sounds like a good idea, even though it leaks the information about your choice of friends in Thailand. I don't want to scare you, but depending on what officer you get, you can really get grilled on the purpose of your visit and they may really look into your laptop. They can do this whether you have a laptop or not. Most of the time it is a quick trip thrkough customs, but one time in Atlanta, the officer took most of the things out of my bags but let me go after finding nothing out of the ordinary... Wow was I glad I gave the last of my condoms to the bartentder at the hotel where I was staying. The young man tending the bar thanked me and said he was happy with farnag condoms as farang customers request one once in a while and tip well for them.

So when you tell the officer you went to Thailand for sun, sightseeing & sex with a range of adult prostitutes, some of whom you have photographed, what's the problem?
It's not like you live in Iran ?

Or better yet, leave it in Thailand until you return (I hate lugging those anchors around). My guy practices his typing and letter-writing skills.

NOT a good idea for any usage that is private/sensitive or financial ..... way too many ways you can be scammed at internet cafes!
There are only 10 types of people in this world, those that understand binary and those that don't.

You mentioned two hotels in Bangkok. Just like to add that the FREE wi-fi in the room works real well [90% of the time which is about as good as it gets anywhere] at Pinnacle Lumpinee, at about $30 per night on Agoda [with bonus $$] big buffet breakfast, free sauna and steam upstairs by the pool [often with entertainment] it is an alround good deal.
