Stranded foreigners can receive free medical treatment

Stranded foreign tourists or businessmen can receive free medical treatment at either state
or private hospitals in Thailand, according to the Public Health Ministry.

"We will pay for that," the ministry's secretary general Dr Prat Boonyawongvirot said Monday.

According to him, if the foreign tourists and businessmen fall ill while waiting for a flight back home,
they are entitled to free medical treatment.

"We are very concerned about the stranded visitors," Prat said.
