Eastin Hotel Bangkok

PostAuthor: Jetsam » Sun 19 Feb, 2006 12:35 pm

When I booked my flight with China Airlines I got a free 2 nights stay at Eastin hotel in Bangkok.

WEBSITE

Somehow this looks more like a business hotel than a tourist one and my fear is that after my first night shopping at the bars and returning to the hotel with a guest, that they couse trouble  , it's always nice to get free accommodation , but if that is with big hassles than I prefer to skip the offer and go directly to Pattaya.
basically my question is , anyone know this hotel and policy?

I know the Eastin well as my friend is a tour manager for a travel company that uses it and he has NEVER had a problem with taking guys back there. Nor have others that I know.

Thats ok. Just be discreet about it and things will be fine. Have a nice stay.

As an aside ... the website URL in Jetsam's opening post contains (if you look deep enough) a really good interactive map of Bangkok. It's not detailed at all, but very clear, zoomable, and easy to orient yourself within Bangkok, with all the main roads, attractions, major hotels noted.

A good resource: http://www.bangkok-maps.com/

And one more detailed: http://www.bangkokbob.net/city_map.htm

Cheers ...

I have not been in but stayed next door at the more modest Bangkok Palace which was OK. It does face onto the Motorway so it might be wise to request a quiet room. The location is so-so - a rather long walk in the heat to Chitlom skytrain station but taxis are cheap. The Eastin looks rather posh.
