That could describe just about anybody on this board but Edith instantly comes to mind.

By the way, the marriage proposal still stands, Edith dear.

Thank you for representing my country so very well.

:lol :lol  - I think he did a good job! Better than those mealy-mouthed queens who drop to their knees in front of a culture that they don't even undertsand!

Ricky was being annoyed by some little brat, and reacted in a proper manner - mace would have been a step too far IMHO - why is he the villain? Should he have wai'ed the kid and his father, and apologised for being from the insensitive West! Please continue kicking me - I am just a fat self hating Yank...

What bollocks people talk! That goes for Smiley 0'Reilly and his  accusation that Ricky is a bullshit artist. Even if the story is fanciful it raises interesting issues - I suspect it is true. I enjoyed this thread and the issues it raises - keep up your adventures, Ricky, real or imagined. :D

Post You think I'm 75, Yimmie!
And you (still) want to marry me!  That would make you a Moneypussy.  (Wasn't Miss Moneypussy a character in James Bond movies?...Pussy Galore's slutty sister?  Or was that the Pink Panther?  I pass on to you the advice I recently received from PeterUK, 'keep taking those pills, dear.'

BTW: Is the Foster movie an update of The Lady Vanishes?

Re the kicking kid: go to the lobby, get a big soft drink and a cup of ice (Add water); next time kid lets fly you (act very startled) throw your arms up, and in so doing, dump the ice on the kiddie...&or the father.

Then wie. :D

Post Thanks, Doctor Anne
Thanks Doctor Anne, for semi defending me, and sort of believing my story just might be true.  No, I wouldn't make that up.  Trust me, if I wanted to make something up, I think I'm capable of that.  But what is so frickin' unbelievable about a kid kicking behind a theater seat?  Why is that the kind of thing that makes other posters claim it's all made up and a pack of lies?

I liked the other posters suggestion of pretending to be startled, and throwing the drink up in the air, aiming for both daddy and son.  I promise you, I will use that next time.   And as far as cultural sensitivity, the locals need to realize that there are many farangs here, that basically support the economy in Pattaya.  [comment deleted E.S. 2].  So I was being nice, now the rotten Thai parents could show a little sensitivity to the needs of the farang.  And my needs during a Jodie Foster lesbo flick are a little peace and quiet.

You have NO CLASS.

Post Luvthai
Hey Luvthai.

So I guess you've been appointed by god [deleted-E.S.]to be the barometer of what "class" is?  Please define it for the rest of us low-lifes.  Maybe one day we can be as high-class as you think you are.

Remember, I never made any CLAIM that I had "class", whatever you think that is.  So to suggest I have "no class" seems odd, and rather judgemental.  If you are going to be so judgemental, please post your standard, and defination of "class", then you can go around telling others how much lower they are than you think you are.  And for those of us that try to contribute and make new and hopefully interesting topics, we look at people like yourself who contribute virtually NOTHING, as simply a gnat or a pest.

I would suggest you spend LESS time attacking others for no apparent reason, and a little MORE time reflecting on your low self-esteem issues, and a little MORE time on trying to start a topic that someone else might be interested in.

One would have thought that someone like yourself with such fascinating insights into all things Thai would have been well aware of the reverence that Thais have for their monarch. By standing during the playing of the anthem, to demonstrate your understanding of that, whether you hold the same views or not, I guess would be the definition of class.

No, darling, that's not "class", that's being a sheep for no reason.  "Class" would be:  I'll stand if I want, you stand if you want; if you don't do what I do, it's OK; you're free, do what you want, I'll do what I want".

That's "class".
