Thailand to launch 'Cyber Clean' scheme
Bangkok: Thailand will launch a "Cyber Clean" scheme to get the Internet-surfing public intimately involved in the crackdown on "improper" websites, it was announced Monday.
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Minister Sora-art Klinpratoom said his ministry would place a toolbar on 50 popular Thai websites that allows people who surf the Internet to send messages or pictures of "improper web pages or contents as tip-offs to officials of the ministry immediately".
With the cooperation of Thai surfers, ICT officials would be able to trace online wrongdoers and take legal action against them, Sora-art told the Thai News Agency (TNA).
He said the ministry would evaluate the performance of the Cyber Clean scheme after a three-month trial period.
