One of the main reasons I go to CS is to use their wireless computer network. Since this new guy bought the business from the Australian guy, Trevor, the place has really gone down hill. He is much more hansome to look at though, but that's about it.



The wireless connection is spotty at best. The place doesn't seem as clean as it used to be and the staff seem a bit more sullen than normal. When Trevor was in charge, the staff were ALWAYS way too flamboiant and camp it was annoying and distracting in a bad way. This is the only thing I can say that has improved since the new guy has taken over.



Any other observations?

Is there more than one Coffee Society on Silom road? There is coffee this and that all over. Anyway I guess you mean the one near Burger King. I went there a few days ago and ordered a dish which was promptly fished out of the freezer and put in a microwave, still inside the plastic bag.



The odd Singaporean will sit outside with his laptop computer trying to hide how shy he is while ogling men.



The place has changed A LOT since it opened.  

Word has it the staff moral is low due to several reasons as told to me by a few staff members.  



1.  Removal of the staff bonus salary system that Trevor had put in place as incentives.



2.  Seems a disproportionate amount of equipment is either broken, or not functioning properly and they do not appear to be getting repaired or replaced.



I am not asserting that any of these statements are the absolute truth derived from first hand knowledge, I am only presenting them here as they were related to me by the current and 2 former CS staff members.

I used to drop by the Cafe Society often, I liked their Cappuccino better than Black Canyon and a lot better than Starbucks. I never tried the food but the desserts looked good.



It's not a very good location and the outside seating is hot and too close to the busy road traffic. I prefer to sit inside at the counter, looking out.

Have you ever tried sitting on the second or third floor. It's just as bad as sitting outside. The A/C in the building is terrible, practically useless.



The new owner is a handsome devil, though.
