BBB Inn

PostAuthor: Rainwalker99 » Wed 28 Dec, 2005 1:10 am

Having spent a few days at BBB Inn, let me comment as follows:

A marginal spot best suited for short time stays.

A room at the Pinnacle through Jimmy is a substantially better value.

Just thought I would throw my two cents in about BBB Inn.

It is basically a short time hotel. I stayed there once and never again. They charge 1200 Baht for a 500 Baht room.

Another very decent and gay friendly place to consider is the Residence Inn, further down on Suriwongse, across from the Plaza Hotel.

Yes if ever I'm in Bangkok I take there Suite No 5, 2400 p.n fantastic value it has everything you need, including CD player, now the Dusit Thani is charging 1000 baht per night joiners fee.

There is a joiners fee at La Residence 400 baht, but this Gay Lesbian owned and run Hotel, is so nice and friendly with instant check in and nice restaurant, its nothing considering you have equivalent to 3 normal rooms in the suite, and can check in a boy for free, if you say he is staying in your room with you, I also like the fact you have a sofa bed in the lounge, I have my house Boy stay there, and lots of room for me and my joiner in the bedroom, all very cozy and only a short walk to all the bars in and off Suriwongse Road

From their website, they have single, double rooms and suits. I would just book double room if I think there is a chance I might bring in a joiner.
From their pictures, the single rooms are simply too small for 2 people anyway.

I agree with ms sydney

I agree with ms sydney re the BBB. Thare are less expensive places but there is nowhere so convenient for the centre of the gay scene in Bangkok. It actually takes three minutes slow stroll to get from there to Dick's Cafe which is, I think, the epicentre and a good kickoff place whereby you can sit and observe first, and get your bearings. Although the lads in BBB are available it seems they do not push at all. The hotel is efficient. They respond to email bookings promptly and you get sage advice there. There is also Internet availability in some rooms and on line in the bar area. I did not try their food. Also it is very easy to navigate your taxi driver from the airport who has never heard of the place... just head for the Dusit Thani (he'll know that, unless he is literally just in from the country on his first trip - ever had one like that?) and then get him to drive on through the intersection and there is BBB (it is written in Thai too and it actually sounds bee bee bee - so suddenly your are fluent) in clear view on the left after Suriwong Thanon. Try it.

Quality over rides quantity of sex any day.

quote:-Why would anyone pay 2400 b a night for a room? in the Luxury La Residence Hotel.

Some guys just like to get there Rocks off in a cheap room, some guys work hard and like the comforts it brings, all depends on your standard of life style, good luck to you if you just want to use a room as you only need the bed for sex.

I'm a different guy, I like to have a few home comforts, and if you say 28 pound a night is a lot for a Luxury Suite 3 times the size of most large Hotel rooms, well you have lived a sheltered life, where I come from you cant stay at the YMCA for that money.

La Residence

PostAuthor: ahobni » Thu 29 Dec, 2005 12:39 pm

I was registered as inboha but for some reason this username failed, so I start again with the name reversed!

I stayed at La Residence some years ago and was happy there. However, I found it a little too quiet and I do like room service which they don't (didn't) have. I got sick and they arranged for me to be taken to hospital. Three years later I booked in again and the receptionist remembered and inquired after my health. Doubt this would happen at a large hotel.

Joiner's fees: I booked a double room and never had a problem even if it was a different boy. However, on one occasion I had a 3 some and when I checked out there was a fee for the extra boy and only for that night. So, fill the bed(s) according to the price paid and no problem. It is at least 4 years since I stayed there so the policy may have changed.

Just like visiting an old friend

PostAuthor: let me tell u » Thu 29 Dec, 2005 1:51 pm

ahobni Yes you are correct they do not often charge the joiners fee, but some times they will all depends on who is at the reception, you are also right it reminds me of when use to stay at now a block of luxury Apartments, The Sebal Town House in Sydney, they made it there business to treat you as if you was a dear friend, and leave you alone if you want quietness.

But your wrong they do have a very good room service tea and coffee, most of the time and food when the restaurant is open, I must say the smallest rooms are only good for one really but the suite are amazing value.

Extras are extra

PostAuthor: sirmrtravels » Fri 30 Dec, 2005 3:30 pm

I have twice been limited to a threesome... but not have had to pay for the second. But was once (Suriwong) refused a third which would have been for a foursome. I regarded this as 'reasonable'.
