Typically Thai... Up2U
1. Follow the signs and walk over the bridge (feels like 3Km) 2. Wait at ground level for the free shuttle bus. 3. Take a taxi. ![]() |

Don Muang Airport Map
As I remember and the map indicates, the domestic airport is to the right of the arrivals area (facing outward). The walk really doesn't seem that long unless your connection time is too short. ___________________________________________________ |

Is that walkway indoor or outdoor? With the heat in Bangkok during the day....10 minutes walk under the sun is a torture!!!

The walkway is all indoor. Unlike Elvis, there's no need to leave the building.

The footbridge seems like some sort of an after thought/design flaw after building the two terminals. It's a strange design. It is vented but on real hot days they put big fans on either end pulling in AC air from the terminal.
Maybe there was original plans for something else, like moving sidewalks. The original planes for the Sky Train connected in the terminal as well----too late now. I wonder how many strange design flaws will be revealed at the new airport? I also have to learn how to pronounce the name. |

And, while we're on the topic of the air port. Are they still taking your photo at passport control/entry desks? Are they asking for boarding passes or anything new?

I came in from Japan yesterday afternoon, and no picture taken, no boarding pass asked for. The lines (at around 16.00h) were VERY long, so maybe they were trying to expedite things?
One thing I will commend the immigrations officers for: I was standing in the first "Foreign Passport" line next to two "Thai Passport" lines. Since there were no khon thai to be processed, each of the two ladies sitting at the Thai Passport line would take the first person waiting in my line. If some other farang would march up to wait in front of their booth, one of the two ladies would snarl (really!) and abruptly wave her hand to the lines, and then go back to processing the farang in front of her ... with a smile! I was impressed, as it seems too often, chaos reigns and patient rule-followers get the short end of the stick. |
