Can anyone recommend a gay friendly hotel in Pattaya? I'd like to pamper myself a little and a good pool is a must. I'm looking to spend around 4,000 baht per night. It's my first trip so any help would be really appreciated.

Well do you intend to come in the middle of high season or are you talking about some time in the new year. You need to define the date
Even Poseiden does not have a swimming pool. As a starter have a look at www.asiarooms.com I would suggest the Royal Cliff Beach resort the cheaper of the two I have never had a problem taking someone back there. Even though it is out of the way the pools and grounds make up for it They also have their own beach The new Hyatt would have promotional rates but the joiners policy has yet to be tested. |

I did consider the Rabbit Resort but could not find if there was access other than from the beach past Tui's
The location map was no help. I would not like to be hauling a suitcase 400 metres along that path, and would not be happy coming home alone along the beach at night Have a look at the map from that website. www.rabbitresort.com/e_map_contact.html. |

Rabbit is about the best possibility in that price range. It is unique in concept but does have some access quirks being on Dongtan Gay beach Walking street. I think you can enter via Jomtien Condotel and Village?
Hyatt? We do hasve a newly opened Sheraton which is very luxe but over B4000 in high season and low. See other trail on this board. Royal Cliff, sadly, do have a joiners fee policy and in the Royal Wing no overnight guests or visitors. Other than that it's OK if you can avoid the Chinese groups. The other good hotels The Dusit, Amari, Marriot, Montien etc all have joiners fees but are gay friendly. Sadly Icon gay hotel, which would have suited you well, is closed. |

Quote: I have stayed at Royal Cliff 5 times in as many years and have never been stopped entering the main foyer with a boy. You will note on the asiarooms website there is the same price for a single or double room. Book the double with your friend to arrive later if they ask. The Marriot is the old Royal Garden where I was knocked back with a joiner. Yes knocked back, not a joiners fee. No problems with age and the boy was presentable. |

whenI stayed there I had a mobile phone and I called the resort as I was approaching the beach and they sent their electric cart to collect me at the 7-11 on the corner and drive me back to the resort any time of the day or night

For the money you wish to pay, do not worry if it is gay friendly. Just go to a 3000 a night place and take a guest. If they charge a joiners fee, I am sure it will not reach 1000 so you will be well in your room range.
For your first time I would think you may be happier near Boystown or the beach. But I would not worry too much about the pool in the hotel. The guys list on this site, a gay pool where you can look and score. If you stay near the beach.... That is Gods pool and many guys in Speedo willing to touch you with their bulge. On my last trip, 2 guys with big bulges were trying to get me to take them both back to my room for a 3 way. It was a nice fantasy but I was saving myself for untold possibilities that could come that night.

I would be careful of the Marriot and the Montien I've had friends stay at both and have problems bringing a guy back, one had the largest suit in the Montien and was told he could not bring a guy in there.
I would stick to the Dusit I've stayed there for years when Im not renting a house, never had a problem if you say your renting a double room, most of the staff are gay and it has a very nice homely feel close to all amenities..... www.asiatraveltips.com/DusitResortPattaya.shtml As for the Royal Cliff its more like a film set long way from anything unless you get a taxi, not very welcoming Hotel far to large and Im sure the people walking through the Lobby are actors as they make no contact to smile or talk, after saying that I must say all the Rooms and Suits are fabulous the amenites are out of this world also, but not much fun alone, mind you I've only stayed at the Royal Wing and I did bring a boy back but not advisable the butler was not Impressed in the morning but if you look at your local travel agents your get amazing deals on all these hotels, I have just put friends in the dusit for 4000 bht a night and you can get cheaper in low season. www.royalcliff.co.th Or try the Sheraton now that is very nice indeed www.starwoodhotels.com/sheraton/search/hotel_detail.html?propertyID=1549 Failing that I dont think you can do much better then book in the Ambience, Cafe Royal or the Poseidon Suites, no pool but they are Gay and will take good care of you, you will know your safe no joiners fees and the beach is a block away what more do you want. www.ambiance-pattaya.com www.caferoyale-pattaya.com http://www.poseidon-pattaya.com .
