A topic and question for the curious, combined with my own perspective...

The newcomer to Thailand, if he goes to gay bars at all, may soon realize that the boys working in those bars are actually a "shared harem."  That is to say, the customers may seem to be many -- but may not be all that many -- and they are all taking the same guys off, from time to time.

I once heard the comment: "Love the 'harem,' hate the 'shared.'"

But it was from a dizzy and frustrated US queen.

But now, proceeding further (again, only for those who go to the go-go bars):

When you are actually living in Thailand, don't you find that you whittle that "shared harem" down to a group of your own friends?  That is to say, monogamy does not rule in the land where no children are born -- so you find that you have A Pack?  A pack of extremely attractive guys, who most likely are in your cell-phone?
