....I have wasted 5 phone calls from the states trying to call the Ambassador hotel in Sukhumvit , trying to find out the cost of the breakfast in the main TOWER breakfast room.(not the shabby fish restauratnt breakfast) All the numbers from google reservations are travel agents and they can't tell me anything about the breakfast.

 I ate there a couple years ago and the brekfast was awesome. If someone in bangkok or maybe someone staying there could find out, I would be very thankful.  I will gladly pass the favor forward, in some way.

Cheapest way of trying the breakfast may be to take an accommodation package that includes breakfast.

Other than that can't imagine their breakfast costing much more than 400/500 baht, say USD10.

Thanks Rick, unfortunately that is a site that is Pacific leisure and a travel agency for bookings. Another wasted call....

I am staying at a friends' apartment so the idea of booking a room is not an option.

I remebered that dreadedned had it listed under massage and rang them to get their website which does not google up.

and not the fish restaurant. made that mistake....the main wing you get brekky at the fish restaurant, The Tower wing is the upgraded rooms and brekky.

I stayed in the Ambassador about 8 months ago.

As far as I can recall

Tower Rooms eat the same place as everyone else(I was in the tower)

Ensure the rate you pay includes breakfast, as it does if you book from the net on asiarooms.com for example.  I do not remember the price if not included but I do remember thinking that it was extortionate.

I noted this because when I went a second time I had not booked online and the price was 50% more and excluded breakfast.

Thanks guys for all the help. I have finally contacted a travel agent friend who contacted the hotel. The main wing hotel is cheaper and much older and their breakfast is given in the fish restaurant next door. the higher priced rooms are in the Tower section with breakfast in their restaurant. If you just want the breakfast (which was quite extensive when i was there last 16 months ago) is 280 baht.
