does the average Thai know what an ATM card is?
... I'm curious; does the average Thai know what an ATM card is? I've never seen a Thai boy use one...
They have them... They are all silver haired and retired...

Re: does the average Thai know what an ATM card is?
I fear you are confusing the card with the ATM itself. The card is what is inserted into the ATM slot, although in my case it is the other way around

There are ten (10) planets. The most recently discovered planet has not been named yet. IT is way way out there, like some of the members! I am waiting to hear what it symbolizes, other then the end of times.

Yes, yes, I meant the card and the machine - the whole shebang.
Call me naive but I just prefer to see the goodness in others. I cringe at the bitchiness spilling forth from this board sometimes. Why can't people just be nice?

I blame the British.
There are many on this board who have that strange British humor ( humour ) that they think is funny but really isn't... it's just sarcastic and mean.

 Re: Mrs Carry Nation...
Gearguy asked you a question, nicely. Please answer - or take your pathetic rantings somewhere else. If you knew anything about Carry Amelia Moore Nation, you would know that she was nearly 6 feet tall, weighed 180 pounds and was opposed to alcoholic drink. You may match her on being opposed to alcoholic drinks, but you are a midget alongside her otherwise - even your little hatchet doesn't do the job!

Well, with "thais" I suppose we mean the thaipepople we normally meet, ie guys between 18-21 ????!!!!
Honestly, how many american or european boys in that age can answer all those questions?
As long as my boy likes to have sex with me, take care of the laundry, washing, cooking etc I don't give a ..... whether he knows who John Lennon is or not :-)

 Re: Arise Clipper
Hooray! Thank you Clipper! At last an honest post! Keep it up, m'dear.
You are hereby ennobled, and may style yourself appropriately - ask Homi about the title, he's such a snob, and knows all about that sort of thing.

 Re: Arise Clipper
I've always thought it entirely appropriate that anyone mad enough to choose to live in America should die the American way - as did John Lennon. That's about the sum of my knowledge about him and I lived through the Sixties! Frankly, assuming some 20 year old of any culture has much to say to me that's of any intellectual interest whatsoever is a mug's game. Gossip - now, that's a contribution they can truly make, and that of course is best restricted to contemporary events and people
Some people have such high expectations. I wish only to be kept amused and entertained and thank god that's a daily occurrence - in this forum (where is Surfcrest these days?), in the media, on public transport , ... endless opportunities. Poor old Hedda could never understand it - I'm only here for the laughs

 Re: Arise Clipper
Someone has to - and the book titles I drop I know are beyond the intellect of most Forum posters so I'm not going to be caught out, now am I?

man means 'root' (or vegetable which grows below the surface, in the ground) ; the root brought to Thailand by the farang.
Also "farang man is the root of all evil"

 Re: Mrs Carry Nation...
Question: Why are you on this board?
Answer: To spread goodwill...
Observation: Then you are an imposter as the real Mrs Carry Nation was..." A vehement foe of alcoholic beverages, (who) would appear at a saloon, berate the customers, and proceed to damage as much of the place as she could with her hatchet. She was the scourge of tavern owners and drinkers alike...She was six foot tall, weighed 175 pounds, and would storm into saloons with a hatchet, with which she would split the barrels containing the infernal liquor. She gigged all around America, her travelling roadshow of abstinence ending in some dive with her hacking away before bemused drunks while her congregation tortured them with hymns."
